The monks of Cîteaux started developing this Clos with its surrounding dry stone walls in the Middle Ages. It took the monks more than two centuries to complete the Clos as it can be seen today. The Clos boundaries were marked in the 14th century and the surrounding wall finished in the 15th century. Eighty-two owners now share the fifty hectares of this emblematic Burgundy region.

Chanzy's expert advice
Serving temperature: 16°C
Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a deep ruby color and the nose expresses a complex floral bouquet of rose and violet with fruity aromas and some additional discreet woody notes. The attack on the palate is round and the tannins then express their power. It is well structured, corpulent and of good length, and thus a worthy representative of this renowned Grand Cru.
